The Valerie Fund's A Taste of Giving event is one of the premier events we host each year. It is a night to meet some special Valerie Fund kids and hear from the heroic caregivers in our Valerie Fund Children's Centers. Congratulations! You’ve just signed up for The Valerie Fund Walk & JAG-ONE Physical Therapy 5K on September 17th! With excitement and anticipation flowing through your veins, you just can’t wait to put on your best pair of running shoes and head over to the course surrounding and within beautiful Verona Park. Similar to how an athlete must train for the upcoming season, 5K participants must season their body so they’ll be able to complete the event in its entirety without getting hurt. If it’s your first time participating in a 5K, or you'd appreciate a little refresher, here’s what you’ll need to know to prepare for the big race.

The Valerie Fund is very lucky to have so many dedicated supporters who come to us in many different ways. One of our favorites is when patients who attended a Valerie Center come back to help their community and the next generation of Valerie Fund kids. The Valerie Fund Walk & 5K will be on September 25th this year instead of June and it will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual for the first time. One thing that won't be different is the need our kids face and the support your fundraising provides. Does your team need a few pointers on how to hit your Walk fundraising goal?

Kids Ice Cancer and The Valerie Fund teamed up again in 2021 to score a goal against pediatric cancer in New Jersey. Kids Ice Cancer was founded in 2019 by 16-year-old Andrew Low, who lost loved ones to cancer. Andrew, a junior at the Morristown-Beard School, wanted to combine his love of hockey with his desire to raise money for pediatric cancer charities. He recruited almost 40 kids from the North Jersey area to participate in the Kids Ice Cancer annual hockey game. In the few months leading up to the game, the players all raise money for pediatric cancer. 

Those who have made Valerie Fund Children and their families a priority in their giving know how important it is to provide support and care to our kids. We'd like to introduce you to two longstanding champions of children battling cancer and blood disorders: Sharon & Josh Weintraub.

Although we were physically unable to be together during the 29^th Annual Thanksgiving Ball Gala on November 20, 2020, the virtual platform checked all the boxes that have made this event one of The Valerie Fund’s premier fundraisers.
