Posted by The Valerie Fund on 5/24/21 8:55 AM

BLOG FB Image LD Child Life SocialThe Valerie Fund Children's Centers are home to many healthcare heroes who support our kids during some of the most difficult times of their lives. These caregivers are experts in a variety of practices. We will be showcasing each service provided in our Children's Centers and hearing from the healthcare providers in their own words what they do for our kids and families. In this installment, we are going to learn about our Palliative Care & Integrative Medicine specialists.

The Centers’ caregivers are experts in a variety of practices. This series of Learning Depots are dedicated to the work of our healthcare heroes and hearing in their own words what they do for our kids and families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Originally aired during the virtual program of the 29th Annual Thanksgiving Ball Gala in November 2020, this Learning Depot presentation provides insight into Palliative Care & Integrative Medicine support provided in The Valerie Fund's Children Centers.

Palliative care is all about improving the quality of life during treatment which is especially important for children as they may not be able to fully understand what is happening to them. Integrative medicine focuses on pain management and physical symptoms of the patient using a variety of methods that are specially chosen for each person.

Please enjoy this presentation and we will be shining the spotlight on our other disciplines soon so stay tuned.
