Alberto's Angels Part 2

Posted by The Valerie Fund on 12/27/21 6:30 AM

img_15017527106630The Valerie Fund is very lucky to have so many dedicated supporters who come to us in many different ways. One of our favorites is when patients who attended a Valerie Center come back to help their community and the next generation of Valerie Fund kids. Alberto of Alberto's Angels is a shining example of this so let's continue to see his story and find out what he has in store for 2022!

Jacks Goal Line Stand

Continuing from last week, Alberto said, "as our visibility began to grow, myself and Alberto’s Angels co-founder and co-captain, Vianela Valdez, decided it was time that we hosted a fundraiser ourselves under our team name. We were able to get the support of and ok from our favorite local sports bar, Jack’s Goal Line Stand in Long Branch, to host our very first Alberto’s Angels Night Out Fundraiser on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021. With the help of TobiasEats and his massive presence, the promotion for this Night Out event reached hundreds of our followers as well as his followers as well. The fundraiser was based on the percentage of food and beverage sales for the day of the event and we were humbled when the city came out and showed us love and supported our cause. Through food sales as well as online donations, we were able to raise approximately $1,300 in donations in one night."

"In September of 2021, Alberto’s Angels showed up to Verona Park for the first Valerie Fund Walk & 5K held there in over two years. Over 20 team members showed up, along with our own photographer to capture every moment of the event. This was the largest group we have ever brought to Verona Park as all of our members are located in Monmouth County. We held a team luncheon (as we do after every walk) at Avenue Bistro on Bloomfield Ave. in Verona as they hosted all 20 of us on their outdoor patio."

"Once the Jack’s event and Walk were over, we were approached by a business partner of Tobias, John and Glenn from Angry Dad Brewing Company, to do a collaboration to sell some of their Angry Dad Amber Ale at the next Food Trucks In The Fall event in October of 2021. The concept was an Angels Takeover, as myself and my co-founder, Vianela, literally took over the Angry Dad Tailgate Trailer to serve up some cold brews. Angry Dad Brewing donated 8 kegs of their ale and we sold out before the second day of the food truck fest was even over. Although the rainfall was extreme that weekend, the event was able to raise about $11,000 for Camp Happy Times. With a little over $2,000 coming from our Angry Dad Takeover alone."

"This was recorded and highlighted by TobiasEats and his team of photographers and videographers and social media team. He was able to bring in former UFC Middleweight champion Karl Roberson to do an interview in front of the Angry Dad Tailgate and speak about Alberto’s Angels and about the Valerie Fund."

"Moving forward, TobiasEats and Alberto’s Angels plan on doing more fundraisers together all while highlighting our work for TVF on his social media, YouTube platforms, as well as his TV Show “TobiasEats” on AppleTV."

"For Halloween, we were all invited to MetLife Stadium for an exclusive Trick Or Treat event where we were able to tour the locker room, hit the field for some tag football, and meet former Giants greats David Diehl and Rich Seubert, who were both very familiar with The Valerie Fund. All of this was threw another business partner of Tobias, Jerzey Jungle Company, who are excited to do any type of fundraising and promoting with Alberto’s Angels in the future."

"As this year winds down and we reflect on the past 24 months, we are excited to be where we are and are ready for the future. We are planning on doing many more fundraisers at Jack’s, as well as other places and we are currently in talks with the TobiasEats production team (Golden Jones Video Production) to shoot an episode for Season 2 of TobiasEats the same day as our next fundraiser with the focus of that episode not just on the restaurant itself, but to focus on what Alberto’s Angels is about and what The Valerie Fund offers to people like me throughout the state of NJ and beyond."

"Our official website, www.AlbertosAngels.com is under construction and will launch before Christmas time, we are also working on TobiasEats/Alberto’s Angels collaboration gear to sell and donate portions to The Valerie Fund. And we always look forward to The Valerie Fund Walk & 5K each year - will we see you there?"

Thank you to Alberto for all of the truly amazing work he does for the kids and families of The Valerie Fund.
